Volunteers are Needed!

We are so glad you are thinking about volunteering at the IRT! We are looking for volunteers every day from July 11th-July 20th, during both morning and afternoon shifts. (Volunteers shifts run from 7:30 AM-12:30 Noon and 12:00 Noon-5:00 PM.) 

Volunteer positions may include eyeglass fabrication assistants, parking assistants, patient intake assistants, community resources (pre-authorized by Health Dept. only), patient escorts, veterinary greeter/intake assistants, volunteer food area assistants and volunteer greeter/intake assistants.

**Please be aware when you register to volunteer that your chosen job description is only a preference. Due to the volunteer needs which can change daily, the tasks we request of you may or may not be the job description for which you signed up. If you are not able to accommodate that flexibility or have any specific jobs for which you are unwilling or unable to perform for whatever reason including physical limitations, etc. please send an email to: CortlandIRTvolunteers@gmail.com

Minimum age to volunteer is 16. All volunteers are subject to a criminal background check. A copy of a valid license/governmental ID needs to be made by June 28 at ONE of the following locations:

  • Cortland County United Way: 50 Clinton Ave., Cortland

  • Seven Valleys Health Coalition: 10 Kennedy Parkway, Cortland

  • Cortland County Office Building, 60 Central Ave., Cortland:

    • Health Department (Room 115)

    • Office for the Aging (Room B4)

  • Village of Homer Clerk’s Office, 31 N. Main Street, Homer.

 

During the IRT, breakfast will be provided for first shift volunteers (7:30 AM-12:30 Noon) and lunch will be provided for second shift volunteers (12:00 Noon-5:00 PM). *We regret we are unable to accommodate food allergies or special meal requests.

PLEASE NOTE: Prior to the event, all volunteers are required to attend ONE mandatory volunteer orientation session (approximately 90 minutes) where you will receive additional instructions and your IRT t-shirt to be worn during all volunteer shifts. You do NOT need to pre-register for the orientation. All volunteers who signed up for a shift through the link below will receive an email reminder of the orientation session dates, times and location of the closer to the time of the event. Volunteer Orientation sessions will be held at:
